Welcome to Newcastle Climbing Centre – the premier indoor climbing venue for Tyneside and the North East and one of the best indoor climbing venues in the U.K.

Climbing is a unique and dynamic sport and delivers exciting rewards both physically and mentally, if you are just starting out or already committed the Newcastle Climbing Centre will offer the ultimate experience.

Situated in the former church of St Marks the listed building provides a spectacular climbing environment with an internal height of 15 metres and over 1200 square metres of climbing walls for roped climbing and bouldering. Whatever your standard of climbing either novice or expert there are features and challenges to suit your ability and your ambition.

We offer taster sessions, introductory courses and instruction for all ages in a safe and controlled environment. Our mezzanine viewing area, cardio gym, specialist gear shop, comfortable changing rooms and meeting room provide the very best facilities to all our visitors.

Looking for exciting activities for the kids during the School Break? Our Kids Climbing Clubs are an ideal way for them to develop new skills, meet new friends and burn off excess energy!

Our Kids Climbing Clubs are £8.50 per session and are open to kids aged between 7 and 14 years old and the clubs run every day of the week:

BMC Para-Climbing Series 2013

Everyone at NCC would like to thank all of the climbers and spectators who attended the BMC Paraclimbing Competition last week. There was a great atmosphere with all competitors pulling hard on some technical and challenging routes. Big shout to NCC regular Tom Perry who battled hard to come second in his category. Keep up the training Tom!

BMC Youth Climbing Series 2013

Saturday saw the third and final round of the North East and Lakes BMC Youth Climbing Series 2013. The BMC Youth Climbing Series (BYCS) is a fun climbing competition for young people with three regional rounds and a national final. The series is extremely popular and attracts hundreds of entrants across the country.
