Plus a raffle will be held with the prize of a brand new pair of La Sportiva shoes.
11th - 26th February - BMC Leading Ladder
NCC are pleased to once again host the BMC's fun lead climbing competition - that starts 1 October 2011 and runs at 31 UK walls, with 12 rounds right through until the end of March.
Each round of the BMC Leading Ladder runs for a 16 day period. That means that you can travel around the country and take part in leading competitions right throughout the winter - and all at your own pace.
17th - 19th February - 2nd round Berghaus Bouldering Comp
The second of three rounds with world class boulderer Micky Page and Dan Wilson setting the problems. There will be £100’s of sponsor prizes on offer to all that enter.

8th March - DMM and Red Chili night
Try on the new range of Red Chili shoes or DMM harness's, see gear being pulled to destruction on the tensile tester plus lecture from DMM’s Rob Greenwood.
Freebies and raffle on the nite as well.
22nd March - Evolv boot demo
Starts at 7pm
30th March - Final of Berghaus Bouldering Comp
The 3rd and final round with world class boulderer Micky Page and Dan Wilson once again setting the problems. After the competition will be the presentation of prizes. |

The first of three rounds with world class boulderer Micky Page and Dan Wilson setting the problems. There will be £100’s of sponsor prizes on offer to all that enter. Comp entry cards are just £1.00 from reception per round with the highest number of points winning the overall series.

28th December 2011 - Reel Rock Film Tour 2011
1st December - Petzl Breaker night
Petzl are joining us for the evening to show off their new bits of equipment and testing hardwear/slings to destruction! Throughout the evening they will be running demo sessions with their breaker to show the effects of cuts and abrasion on things like slings. They also encourage you to bring along old or worn gear to be tested, so any slings, harnesses, or karabiners that you have that don’t get used anymore, bring them along and watch them pop.
Running along side this on the evening is a Rockworks Fun and Free Bouldering Competition! With prizes for the winners, as well as a prize draw for everyone who enters.
November - The Scene Film Tour 2011
The Scene was one of the largest climbing films of 2011 and had an estimated 200+ live screenings worldwide.
November - Evolv boot demo with Ben Bransby
Test the newest performance rock shoes from the USA. Ben will need no introduction as one of the leading UK rock climbers and will be on hand to provide technical advice on these products.
A raffle will be held with the prize of a brand new pair of Evolv shoes.
October 2011 - The Frozen World: Free Lecture
Stu Gallagher the ultimate all round outdoor specialist is coming to NCC on Oct 21st 8.30pm to give his lecture on his latest adventure Climbing and sailing in Antarctica.
October 2011 - OutsideIN Event
La Sportiva, Beal & Petzl descended on NCC for our 3rd Annual Outside In Event in October 2011.
This year's sponsored athletes were Natalie Berry & Neil Gresham who held master classes throughout the day as well closing the event with lectures.

April 2011 - NCC Climbers Festival
April saw Newcastle Climbing Centre's very first Climber's Festival.
A big thanks to all of the stall holders and everyone who came along.
We will be holding the festival again in winter so be sure to keep an eye on our website and facebook page for more details.
March 2011 - Red Chili & DMM Demo Evening
Try Red Chili’s latest shoes for the evening plus spot prizes of T-shirts, chalk and chalk bags for participants!
Plus DMM will be joining us for the evening and allowing you to try out their gear.
Test their range of harnesses, try out their new Chicane belay device, see each stage of carabiner manufacturing development, see the forging dies that make the kit!

March 2010 - Alan Hinkes Lecture
A big thanks to Alan Hinkes OBE for delivering his lecture on the big Mountains to celebrate Newcastle Climbing Centre's first birthday!
Also to La Sportiva, Wild Country, Allcord & Rockworks for donating prizes in the raffle all proceeds went to one of Alan’s main charity’s Diabetes Uk.

January 2010 - Steve McClure Master Class
There will be 3 master classes each lasting 1.5 hrs with max of 4 people per class. All participants must be registered Newcastle Climbing Centre members with the ability to lead 4+.
December 2009 - Dave Birkett Lecture
Our first event in a winter series of lectures and film at Newcastle Climbing Centre with a talk by one of the UKs leading rock climbers. Lakes based climber Dave Birkett will be well known to many with the award winning film “Set in Stone” and also his recent repeats of hard routes in Northumberland including “Crisis Zone” at the Wanneys.
