NCC NEWSLETTER - JANUARY 2012

Welcome to the NCC newsletter – keeping you up to date with the latest events and promotions from the North East’s premier indoor climbing centre. We have an exciting diary of events throughout the coming months including sponsored bouldering competitions and equipment demo nights and new routes set throughout the centre.

EVENTS

Berghaus Winter Bouldering Competition - 2012

Suitable for all levels of climber - the emphasis is on the fun and social aspect of climbing!

The competition will be held over 3 Rounds with problems ranging from V0 – V9.

•    1st   Round   Jan 13th – 15th  (Free Berghaus Raffle)
•    2nd Round    Feb 17th – 19th  (Free Berghaus Raffle)
•    Final Round  March 30th (Presentations for Category Winner’s & Berghaus Raffle)

The first two rounds will run from the Friday to Sunday, this gives you plenty of time to complete your scorecard. Don’t forget to hand in scorecards for each round - this is also your raffle ticket, we’ll be having the Berghaus raffle with fantastic prizes at the end of every round - yes every round!

Categories include male and female in:
•    Under 12’s
•    12 to 15
•    16 to 18
•    Open
•    Over 60’s
•    Best Effort

Entry is £1.00 plus normal Boulder entry and remember- every time you hand in your scorecard you have a chance to win some fantastic Berghaus prizes – Good Luck!

COMING SOON….

The BMC Leading Ladder will be held at NCC from Saturday 11th  to Sunday 26th February 2012. There will be ten routes from grade F5+ to F8a.  To take part just turn up with a friend, pay the usual wall entry fee and purchase a scorecard from the wall for only £1.

The BMC Leading Ladder is a fun lead climbing competition that starts in October and runs at 29 UK walls until the end of March, giving you the opportunity to travel around the country and take part in leading competitions throughout the winter.

La Sportiva Boot Demo in partnership with Rockworks Climbing – Thurs eve.  Feb 9th
Try out some of the latest climbing shoes from Sportiva, including the Katana Lace-Up.  Also on the night, everyone who tries on a pair will be entered into a prize draw to win a pair of La Sportiva Climbing shoes.
