Petzl Belay Experience Tour Comes to Newcastle Climbing Centre!
We’re excited to announce that Petzl will be visiting Newcastle Climbing Centre as part of their Belay Experience Tour – an international event series stopping at climbing gyms across Europe to celebrate the launch of the all-new NEOX® belay device.
This is your chance to meet the Petzl team, learn from their experts, and get hands-on experience with their latest range of belay devices – including the innovative NEOX®, designed for smooth, cam-assisted belaying that benefits both climber and belayer.
What to Expect
Throughout the event, Petzl’s athletes and instructors will lead a range of interactive workshops designed to help you improve your belay technique in a fun and practical way:
Slack Race – Test your rope control and see how well you can stay with your climber under pressure.
Lead Climbing – Try out the new NEOX® and experience its unique features first-hand.
Catch a Fall – Understand and experience a lead climber fall in a safe, controlled setting.
Lead & Top Rope Sessions

In addition to the workshops, we’ll be running four scheduled “Lead & Top Rope” sessions, led by Petzl’s expert staff.
Each session is limited to 10 participants and will use topics from Petzl’s Access Books to introduce a range of best practices and give attendees the chance to try all of Petzl’s belay devices, including the NEOX®.
These sessions are ideal for climbers who want to refine their technique and get personal guidance from the Petzl team.
